"Wonderful atmosphere. Traditional style german food. This a cash only establishment so ensure to have 20 to 40 euros per person."

"Excellent spot to try Frankfurt specialties. We got there right on midday, so our waiter had more time to explain menu items without too many other customers around. We tried the local cheese, green sauce and apfelwein (not all together - across a few courses). Lovely traditional restaurant and we were made to feel welcome."

"Just what you want from traditional restaurant: good food, some drinks and a cozy atmosphere. Frankfurter Schnitzel was very decent, and a everything just worked. I guess reservation is good to have, as the place became packed at six o clock."

"If I could award more stars, I would. Stellar food and the best apfelwein I tried in Frankfurt. The staff was friendly and accommodating even though we stumbled upon the place and had no reservations. The ambiance is top-notch. We enjoyed ourselves but tried to be respectful of locals in their neighborhood joint. Do yourself a favor and get the green sauce — with eggs is most traditional. Will be thinking about this experience for a while."

"Very local and great restaurant if you want to try some real German food with simple and old-school atmosphere. Schnitzel and mushroom soup was amazing, apfelwein tasted very strong and pure, reasonable prices too so definitely recommend if you looking for simple meals. Quiet place, a bit older crowd so nice to get away from all the city noise and busy restaurants."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐ Authentic Frankfurt Fare with Excellent Schnitzel and Apfelwein Apfelwein Dax is a fantastic choice if you’re after traditional Hessian food with friendly, attentive service. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming—perfect for both locals and visitors looking to enjoy regional cuisine. The house apple wine was refreshing—dry, slightly tart, and very drinkable. A great match for the rich, savory dishes they serve. We had the Wiener Schnitzel (veal), and it was outstanding. Lightly breaded, pan-fried to golden perfection, and tender inside—exactly how a proper schnitzel should be. We also enjoyed the white asparagus, which was in season and served simply with melted butter—a classic, elegant pairing that let the quality of the asparagus shine through. Service was efficient and warm throughout, with staff happy to assist and check in without hovering. If you’re in Frankfurt and want a taste of local tradition done right, Apfelwein Dax is well worth a visit."
